The aptly named View on Washington is one of Old Town Alexandria’s newest condominium developments. Located in the heart of the Alexandria Historical District, the tall, federal-style brick structure itself isn’t new. Originally constructed in 1956, the building served as offices for many years. It was redeveloped in 2021 and converted into a boutique luxury condominium with just 10 very spacious residences.
If the exterior of the six-story building looks much the same as it has for nearly 70 years, the interior has been completely gutted and transformed, with condominium designs by Melissa Cross. The two and three-bedroom units are large, open, and airy, with layouts up to 1,700 square feet. The top level is dedicated to penthouse residences, complete with private roof decks. There are just two residences for each level, allowing for maximum privacy. Two small businesses are at the street level, including a high-end hair salon.
