There are around 80 residential units at the Monroe across eight levels, with one, two and three-bedroom layouts that range from approximately 861 to 1,885 square feet of living space. That said, the vast majority are two-bedroom models, starting at 1,178 square feet. Many of the units also have dens that can used as extra sleeping spaces, or convenient work-from-home offices. Developed by Madison Homes and completed in 2006, the Monroe is located at the corner of Monroe Street and 10th Street N, hence its name. The exterior design is evocative of classic Beaux-Arts principles blended with a contemporary aesthetic, with rounded corners, extended bays, and generously sized balconies. Once you enter one of the large and airy residences, you’ll discover gleaming hardwood floors, 11-foot ceilings, recessed overhead lighting, crown molding, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The open gourmet kitchens originally featured dark granite counters and upscale appliances, and some of been remodeled since the building’s original delivery. Most units have private outdoor spaces, and dens will often feature French doors. In-unit washers and dryers are standard, along with nicely finished baths and large walk-in closets.

Residents at the Monroe enjoy plenty of amenities including secure parking, extra storage, a staffed lobby with concierge service, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a library, a media lounge, a courtyard, and a rooftop deck with a pergola, dining tables, and very impressive views.
