More About the Marvin, Washington, DC
Originally built in 1923, the former apartment house with its grand front lobby went through its condominium conversion process in 2012, with rental tenants given the option to buy in. There were extensive renovations by the Adams Investment Group at that time, and numerous subsequent remodels by individual owners since then. The result is a pleasing variety of layouts and features, including open gourmet kitchens, often with KitchenAid and Bosch appliances, and modern bathrooms with Carrera marble. Hardwood floors can be found in different finishes, and some of the smaller residences have custom built-in Murphy beds. Most units have stacked washers and dryers in closets, and there is a communal laundry room as well. The pet-friendly building has an expansive marble lobby, and extra storage.
The Marvin is located in the northern part of Kalorama, close to neighboring Adams Morgan. There are numerous bars, bakeries, and restaurants within a few blocks, including along the celebrated 18th Street corridor. There are even more options to the south in next-door Dupont Circle. The Jack Rose Dining Salon, Lapis, Al Volo Osteria, Oh Mama Grill, Perry’s, and Retrobottega are just a few of the dining options. In addition to the previously mentioned Kalorama Park, other local greenspaces include Walter Pierce Dog Park, Mitchell Park, and Rock Creek Park.
