The Majestic Condominiums

Located at 1324 Euclid Street NW, Washington, DC 20009 | Columbia Heights

The Majestic condominium building certainly lives up to its name, a stately Beaux-Arts structure with a sculpted roofline and lovely limestone relief. Located in the heart of the Columbia Heights neighborhood, the building was originally constructed in 1936 at the tail end of a development boom that had been fueled by the expansion of streetcar lines. The four-story Majestic with its separate front entry and exit doors is emblematic of a period of time in which the city’s population growth was spiking, and new housing was in high demand.

THE MAJESTIC Condos for Sale

Sort by:

Nearly seven decades passed before the Majestic was gut-renovated in 2004 and converted to 38 condo units in one and two bedroom floorplans, many with bonus dens. Again, it was a case of history repeating itself, as the community found itself in the midst of a new development boom. The Embassy, the Fedora, the Magdaline, and the Helicopter Factory are just a few examples of older properties that have been converted to condominium usage in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

More About the Majestic, Washington, DC

Condos at the Majestic range from around 550 to 1,150 square feet in size, with traditional, organic layouts that are quite different from the generic shoebox shape that has become so common these days. The result is a classic homey feeling with Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, recessed overhead lighting, and hallways leading bedrooms. The galley kitchens have been nicely renovated, with portions of the walls removed for a semi-open appearance. Dark stone counters, handsome cherry cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances add to the appeal. The bathrooms are also well-appointed, and each condo has its own in-unit washer and dryer.

The pet-friendly Majestic has front lawns, extra storage, and a community bike room. There are a limited number of surface parking spots off the rear alley, available for a monthly fee. The building is on a pleasant, tree-lined street less than half a block from 14th Street with its bakeries and restaurants. There are even more bars, restaurants, shops, and entertainment along the U Street Corridor, just a few blocks south.  Also nearby is the popular Meridian Hill Park with its cascading water basins and Sunday morning drum circles.
