The Aston Condominiums

Located at 1634 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009 | Logan Circle

With its modern design and prime location, the Aston is an upscale boutique condominium in Washington, DC’s Logan Circle neighborhood. The seven-story building is home to 31 residential units as well as street-level commercial space. Logan Circle’s popular Sette Osteria restaurant is currently on the ground floor of the Aston. The building is at the corner of 14th and R Street. This is the heart of the neighborhood’s commercial spine, with clothing stores, coffeehouses, restaurants, yoga studios, and performing arts venues all nearby.

The Aston was developed by Sequar and Valor and designed by Bill Bonstra of Bonstra Haresign. The ground up project commenced in 2011 and was completed in 2013, with edgy cubist themes that integrate sections of brick in several color palettes, along with vertical black metal beams and giant windows. The condo residences include both studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom configurations with an array of sizes from about 465 to 1,400 square feet of living space. Other condominium buildings in the Logan Circle neighborhood include Lofts 14, Q14, 11 Park, and the Berret School Lofts.

More About the Aston, Washington, DC

Condos at the Aston come in single-level apartment layouts, as well as a handful of duplex penthouses at the upper level. The penthouses feature floating spiral staircases as well as private rooftop decks. But the majority of units are one or two-bedroom flats, with wide-plank floors in a variety of wood types, and oversized windows, some of which are part of square bay configurations. The gourmet kitchens are open to the living room/dining areas, with stone counters, breakfast bars or prep/dining islands, stainless steel appliances, and either maple or cherry cabinets. The bathrooms are also quite contemporary and luxurious, with stone-topped vanities and cabinetry that mirrors the kitchen finishes. All units came with front-loading washers and dryers at the time of the building’s delivery in 2013. Some of the condos have patios or balconies, and some come with options for parking.

There are tons of dining options in addition to the downstairs Sette Osteria. Le Diplomate, Rice, Gypsy Kitchen, Chicken + Whiskey, Barcelona Wine Bar, and Red Light Bar & Pizza are all within about a block or two. Whole Foods Market is also conveniently close for your grocery needs. Logan Circle has a reputation for being one of Washington, DC’s fastest growing neighborhoods, thanks to recent condo communities like the Aston. But there are also still lots of reminders from the historic past, from lovely antique buildings and storefronts that are interspersed with newer construction, to the nearby Logan Circle roundabout and inner park with its statue of General John A. Logan astride his horse.
