Condo Residences at CityCenter

Located at 920 I Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 | Mount Vernon Triangle

Spanning 10 acres in the heart of Washington, DC is a mixed-use condominium and outdoor mall community unlike anything else in the District. The aptly named CityCenterDC, also spelled out as City Center, is home to upscale condos, apartment rentals, a hotel, over 40 boutique retailers and restaurants, a plaza, and a 1.5-acre park. Built at the former site of the Washington Convention Center, the thriving new attraction is essentially located in the Mount Vernon Triangle, although it also touches on Mount Vernon Square, Downtown, and Chinatown.

Described in the New York Times as a modern-day Rockefeller Center, the project took years to plan and complete, and includes two 11-story condominium towers known as the Residences at CityCenter and designed by the prestigious London firm, Foster & Partners. The towers are located at 920 I Street and 925 H Street respectively, with a total of 226 residences. Floorplans range in size from around 624 to over 3,000 square feet and from one to four bedrooms. Virtually all units have a private outdoor space of some sort and select larger residences have impressive landscaped wooden decks referred to as sky terraces.

More About CityCenterDC, Washington, DC

Condos at City Center have a very identifiable interior style, with large open space living, dining, and cooking areas that come together seamlessly. Floors come in various wood types, the most common being European White Oak with wide planks. The full-height windows are integral to the plans, often creating walls of glass that can wrap around more than one side.

The Euro-style kitchens boast Molteni Italian panelized cabinetry in either gloss white, bleached oak, or bleached walnut, and countertops that are most often white Caesarstone. Bosch, Thermador, and Miele stainless steel appliances are mostly hidden within the panelized cabinets and the overall effect is modern minimalism. Most apartments have built-in desk cubbies, either along the kitchen wall or in an adjacent hallway. The bathrooms are sleek and uncluttered, with Caesarstone vanity tops and designer fixtures. Large Molteni custom designed closet systems, and in-unit washers and dryer are among other features. Secure garage parking is standard.

Condo owners at CityCenterDC enjoy plenty of full-service amenities, including lobbies for each building with staffed desks, concierge service, and doormen. There’s an impressive wine storage facility, a huge fitness center, a yoga studio, a regular lounge, a bar lounge, and a dining room, a catering kitchen, and executive conference room, two roof parks, outdoor dining, and fire pits.

The two buildings are built with staggered levels, resulting in glorious views as residents look out their windows or from their balconies, at the various landscaped terraces and interior courtyards. An elongated roof park water feature resembles a lap pool and is a peaceful place to sit. The fully integrated mixed-use community includes high-end shops like Chanel, David Yurman, Gucci, and Tesla, while dining includes Piccolina, Fig & Olive, Centrolina, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, and more. The community’s own park is a perfect place to walk your dog.

CityCenterDC is bordered by I Street NW, 9th Street NW, H Street NW, and 10th Street NW. Once you step outside of the bounds of the stylish outdoor mall, you’ll find yourself in one of the most vibrant and exciting parts of urban Washington, DC. There are shops, restaurants, museums, and landmarks in every direction. There are several nearby Metro stations, including Metro Center, Gallery Place-Chinatown, and Mt. Vernon Square-7th Street. The famous Ford Theatre, and the National Portrait Gallery are within easy strolling distance, as is Capital One Arena, home of the NBA’s Washington Wizards and NHL’s Washington Capitals, not to mention concerts from many of music’s biggest stars. The National Mall is about a half-dozen blocks south of City Center.
