Kenwood, & Kenwood Park Luxury Real Estate
Kenwood Park is the more northern of the two communities, with Goldsboro Road to the south and Bradley Boulevard to the east. Kenwood’s bounds include Goldsboro Road to the north, Little Falls Parkway to the east, and River Road to the southwest.
These are not crowded neighborhoods in the least, with gently curving streets and cul-de-sacs, well-groomed lawns, and gracious properties that run the gamut from older Colonials and Tudors to new custom construction. Included are stunning manors overlooking the country club golf course.
More About Kenwood and Kenwood Park, MD
Kenwood was the first of the two neighborhoods to be residentially developed, beginning around 1927. The Kenwood Country Club was an integral part of the initial phase, opening its doors and its golf course in 1928. Kenwood Park was part of a post-war expansion, with the first homes built around 1954. Homes in the final phase of the Kenwood Park subdivision weren’t completed until the 1970s.
Accompanying the leisurely timeline of the two neighborhoods has been the improvement of some existing properties, whether complete teardowns or substantial expansions of existing homes. The wide variety of lot sizes and shapes has allowed latitude for custom builders. As a result, you’ll find some truly spectacular estates that adapt nicely to rolling terrain.
With garden clubs, social events, and the centerpiece country club, Kenwood and Kenwood Park present an affluent and suburban lifestyle that can feel far removed from the urban hustle and bustle. Capital Crescent Trail and Little Falls Park Trail are at the western edge of Kenwood, adding wonderful hiking opportunities. But you won’t have to go far to enjoy big city perks, with Bethesda Row and the Wisconsin Avenue corridor just a short distance away. There’s also a Whole Foods on River Road, along with some neighborhood restaurants and businesses.
