More About Gateway Georgetown, Washington, DC

You’ll find an abundance of different layouts at Gateway Georgetown, but the common denominator is a spacious and sunny ambience. Built in 1942, the large apartment complex was a forerunner of a midcentury trend of more expansive window arrangements. In this case, Koenig designed the units with sets of triple windows, including the boxy window bays. The original floors were parquet hardwood, and many still remain. Given the age of the building, there have been lots of remodeling by individual owners, such as upgrades to the vintage galley kitchens with stone counters and stainless steel appliances. The pet-friendly building offers a number of amenities, such as a front lobby, a fitness center, a rooftop deck, a huge grassy courtyard, a bike room, extra storage, and garage parking for a rental fee.

This is a very verdant area, from a giant back courtyard with grassy lawns, to adjacent stands of trees. Rock Creek Park Trail is literally steps away, along with Montrose Park to the north and Francis Dog Park to the south. You can walk right over the bridge to Dupont Circle, or head in the other direction to all the favorite East Village attractions. Wisconsin Avenue with its incredible variety of boutique retailers nd top restaurants is only about six blocks away.
