The four-story boutique development in Columbia Heights was completed in 2016, with 20 condo residences, each of which has a private outdoor space of some sort. Apex is located on 15th Street between Columbia Road and Irving Street, in the northern part of the neighborhood, just about a block from the Columbia Heights Metro Station and also walking distance to local shops and restaurants. There’s a lot of variety in the floorplans which run from about 620 to 1,200 square feet in size. Some of the penthouses are two-level with circular floating staircases, soaring ceilings, and private roof decks. The stylish gourmet kitchens are open to the main living areas, with quartz counters, glass tile backsplashes, maple cabinetry in either white or gray finishes, and KitchenAid stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms are similarly deluxe with frameless showers, stone-topped vanities, and striking tile work. All units have their own laundry. Bike storage is free, and garage parking is available for a monthly fee.
Location is also key, just a little more than a block from the Columbia Heights Metro Station, and also strolling distance from the Powell Recreation Center, Rabaut Park, Girard Street Park, and Meridian Hill Park. There’s a long string of restaurants along 14th Street, as well as 11th Street to the east. Surrounding communities include Adams Morgan to the west, Mount Pleasant to the north, and the U Street Corridor to the south. Downtown Washington is easily accessible via 16th Street, and the Columbia Heights neighborhood itself is almost exactly in the District’s epicenter.
